Within the good spirit of Academia, in addition to the organized educational tracks, the Academy offers the opportunity to take select study courses of interest out of study courses on offer that Semester.

 

Depending on whether there is an intention to be evaluated and receive academic credit for the course, a person taking select study courses can do so either in an Attendee or Auditor status.

 

ATTENDEE STATUS

 

Students wishing to submit assignments, and receive full Academic Credit after their successful completion can take select study courses as Attendees. An Attendee joins the study course as a full-time student - watching lesson recordings, doing mandatory readings, attending seminars, and completing all study course assessments. A certificate is issued after the successful completion of a study course, which indicates the Academic Credit awarded that may afterward count towards a full degree of an equivalent or similar study course.

 

Taking a select study course as an Attendee is subject to availability and a study course fee of 50 EUR per 1 Academic Credit point (CP) of study course length.

Applications to the study program can be made through the common ONLINE APPLICATION form.

AUDITOR STATUS

​

Students wishing only to attend seminars of a select study course, without commitment to watching lesson recordings, doing mandatory readings, or completing all study course assessments may do so as Auditors. An Auditor does not receive Academic Credit for completing the course, and there is no provision to evaluate any submitted work (including the exam), although individual arrangements can be made with the lecturer.

 

Auditing a study course is subject to availability and a free-sum donation. Applications can be made by contacting the Academy directly at academy@lut.edu.lv.
