CHRIST IS PRESENT IN FAITH
The Luther Academy is an official state-accredited higher education institution founded by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia. With teaching based upon the Christian faith in the Lutheran tradition, the Academy encourages and equips people to fulfill their calling from God.
Candidates to study at the Luther Academy can apply to pursue practically applicable academic studies in the Christian faith and the Lutheran tradition either in the form of a state-accredited 4 year Undergraduate BA in Theology study program; a church-recognized 2 year study program 'Theology and Ministry', which allows students to set their own intensity of study; or
through taking select courses in the status of either an Attendee (receiving academic credit) or an Auditor (without academic credit).
Life at the Academy does not consist of only of studies, but of living out the faith of Jesus Christ in community. We cultivate our prayer and liturgical life in regular Vespers and fellowship. Equally, pastoral care and spiritual direction play an important role, as by serving and receiving the service of others towards the building up of our faith, we learn to minister practically in the love of Christ to those in our current and future vocations.
